Technical Passport for EAC Certification

Technical Passport for EAC Certification

A Technical Passport contains legally required technical data of a machine or equipment. The creation of Technical Passports is mandatory for EAC Certification for various machines and equipment.

Technical Passports must be available during the entire service life of a machine or equipment, are delivered together with the machine and are kept directly at the machine or equipment. For EAC Certification of equipment and machinery for export to Russia and Eurasian Economic Union States, the Technical Passport must be presented to the accredited certification organization.

Application of the Technical Passport

Technical Passports are created separately for each piece of equipment, machine or system. A Technical Passport is a prerequisite for successful EAC Certification or EAC Declaration of various machines and equipment, especially if the machine or equipment is used in factories with increased hazards. In this case, the preparation of Technical Passports is supervised by the state. Technical Passports are prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Customs Union Technical Regulations for different production equipment or production machinery.

For Example:

  • TR CU 010/2011 - for the EAC Certification of Machinery and Equipment
  • TR CU 012/2011 - for the EAC Certification of ATEX Equipment

The following information must be included in the Technical Passport:

  • Technical Data and Parameters
  • Information about the Manufacturer's Warranty
  • Information about Certification of the Equipment
  • Information about Disposal and Recycling
  • Information about Commissioning and Maintenance
  • Information about Modifications (Modernization, Repair, Welding Work)

Authorized Representation for EAC Certification

In the legal regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, it is stipulated that the manufacturer must have a registered office in the Common Economic Territory of the EEU States in order to apply for an EAC Certification or an EAC Declaration. If that is not the case, an authorized representative of the manufacturer is required to apply for and conduct EAC Certification processes in the Customs Union.

The Authorized Representative must be located in one of the Customs Union (CU) Member States. As a rule, a distributor of the manufacturer from the states of the Eurasian Economic Union acts as the applicant. Here, it is necessary to take into account that after the successful EAC Approval, only this distributor owns the exclusive right of distribution for the whole certification period and must issue an authorization of sales activities to all other distributors.

In such situations, the manufacturer becomes dependent on his business partner, who acted as the manufacturer's authorized contract person during the EAC Certification or EAC Declaration. If you wish to remain independent of individual distributors, we can provide you with a contract person. This task can be taken over by our Russian branch in Moscow or Novosibirsk. After successful certification, we will issue an authorization for distribution activities to all your business partners. Should you decide over time to part with certain distributors or to engage new ones, we will assist you with all your assignments and withdraw or reissue the authorization accordingly.
